பூகம்பம் - A tribute

This write up was done years before and now I have an opportunity to share it with you. The night after the merciless quake at Bhuj, I happened to see that photograph in the newspaper daily (Thanks to The Hindu). It was so naive and incredibly picturesque that prompted me to write.

Here is the Writeup for you... Please click on the picture for an enlarged view...(If you cannot read here !)

Days of Slumber !

Just wanted to share my sketch with you...

I said some words to the close and Holy darkness,
and then I slept !

Rays of hope !

Though the life and its events are a bit vague and trite,
Always there are rays of hope, beautiful and bright,
Once we start enjoying them, with confidence and pride,
Everything would feel as easy as an interesting ride !

Taught Vs Perceived

A Meditating Yogi

The five rays from the Yogi depicting the five senses, emanating from him, merging with the whole !

There was a thought that flashed in my mind when I went to a bookshop last weekend.
With a lot of curiosity I browsed over the books and found a lot of books that hail a so-called Swamiji. The motto of any religion and its preacher is to manifest the inner self and not himself. I am confused why some people are giving such undue respect to another human rather than to themselves.

Plunging in the Pallavas !

My new year resolution grabbed such a looong time and finally with a lot of gasps I am only able to present you some old (a month or so!) snaps... Oh my God ! Curse the bitter schedule I am pushing on... Hope to bring you some more nice ones soon...
I also have a small thought to share with you...

Here they are...

The Five Rathas

All the five structures, the four temples and the Elephant (There is a tiger sculpture at the back of the temples which is not visible here) are rock cut structures and are carved out from a single small mountain. Constructed at around 500 B.C, it makes me wonder at the engineering skills people had at that period, in India.

These sculptures are calles as "Five Rathas".
Hats off to them...! !! !

The Varaha Cave

The light house

One of the english architechtures in Mallai.

Out of the number of marvels this is the only structure built with a sense of purpose. All the others would give you a mythical satisfaction void real purpose. This made me wonder why though our forefathers, blessed with matchless capability, they all used it extensively for their stories and myths leaving no prudence for an ulterior motive. Perhaps if they a little of that mind, the U.S President would have written a book titled "United States - 2020" by seeing our growth !
